"Gyotaku is a time honored, traditional Japanese art, that is captured on a piece of shoji paper for the keepsake of the family, and friends, and fishers to come. Once the print is complete, the non-toxic paint is washed off, and the fish is cleaned to be cooked. It is quite simple and pure, as it has been for over 200 years. We fish to eat, and print what we fish to remember and share the experience."

Matches Fashion Christmas Window Display

I participated in a competition with Jotta http://www.jotta.com/jotta/ and designed some christmas wrapping paper for the Matches http://www.matchesfashion.com/ window display. It got printed and installed now and can be seen in shops across London. Here are some pictures, hope it brings you in a festive mood... only five weeks to go.

"There is no doubt he has been among the most protean and inventive photographers at work anywhere during the last 15 years. By himself practicing more than one photography, he has enriched the possibilities for his contemporaries, whatever their artistic faith . . . Morell thinks big by keeping his focus small. His eye can't help being drawn to romantic decay, to the Laocoon-like contortions of bound pages damaged by flood or a box of shredded, worthless money. And yet he also sees how light on the gilded edges of a stack of library books suddenly transforms them into bars of gold.
